Alias Manager in hsbDesign29 for Revit

In this article you will get to know the alias manager in version 29 of hsbDesign for Revit and how to best use it.

You find the alias manager in the framing styles editor. In comparison to the versions before, you now have the possibility to add default beam codes to each alias, aswell as a default material. This material will be used if you do not assign a material to the alias in your specific framing style.

You can use any naming that you want for the aliases, but experience shows, that using the material as the name works better than using the zones as names. This gives you the freedom to use one alias in several zones without it causing confusion because of the naming.

If you hover over the group name in the framing styles tab you can enable or disable specific aliases. This icon opens a new window, in which you can then disable or enable single aliases. By doing so, your inventory will be much cleaner and faster to work with.
