hsbMake | Production states

In hsbMake Office, States play a crucial role in managing and tracking the production status of items. This article explains how to configure, manage, and use states within the application.

🔧 Creating States

States can be created and configured via the hsbMake Office Configuration. Each state is part of a Production Status Category and helps define the current phase of an order in your production workflow.

Status Categories

There are four main Production Status Categories by default:

Category Description
Planned All newly created orders start in this category.
Released Orders that have been released to production are moved here.
Started Orders that are actively being produced.
Complete Orders that have finished production.

Default States

Each category has a default state with the same name as the category (e.g., Planned, Released).
You can customize these default states in the settings.

When an item changes to a new Status Category, it will automatically be assigned the default state within that category.

Removing States

To delete a state:

  1. Assign another state to replace the deleted one.
  2. This ensures all items previously using the deleted state are reassigned appropriately.

⚠️ You cannot delete a state without designating a replacement.

⛔ Stop Release Functionality

States in the Planned category can be configured to block release actions.
This can be useful to prevent certain orders from progressing until specific criteria are met.

🔁 State Changes via Controller Movement

State changes can be automated through 'book in/out' actions using Auto Process Plugins.

For example:
When an item is moved to workstation 1DA1-1, its state can automatically change to "On Production Line".

This is set up in hsbMake Configuration -> Production Control -> Controller Service.

When modifying state settings or Auto Process Plugins:

You must restart the hsbMSServer for changes to take effect.

⚠️ If you're unsure how to restart the hsbMSServer, please contact our support team. Incorrect restarting may cause hsbMake to stop functioning properly.
